PRO Installation and License Activation

This guide covers downloading, installing, and activating the PRO edition of Free Downloads for WooCommerce.

Prerequisites

Before installing the PRO edition, ensure you meet the basic requirements for the plugin.

Download the PRO Edition​

From WP Enhanced Account​

  1. Log in to your WP Enhanced Account
  2. Go to Downloads
  3. Find Free Downloads WooCommerce Pro
  4. Click the download button to download the ZIP file
  5. Save the ZIP file to your computer

Install the PRO Edition​

Follow the same installation steps as the FREE edition:

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins > Add New
  3. Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page
  4. Click Choose File and select the PRO plugin ZIP file you downloaded
  5. Click Install Now
  6. Wait for the installation to complete
  7. Click Activate

License Activation​

Pro edition customers who purchased from WP Enhanced need to activate their license to receive automatic updates and premium support.

Generate a License Key​

  1. Log in to your WP Enhanced Account
  2. Go to Orders
  3. Find your Free Downloads WooCommerce Pro order
  4. Click Manage License
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  6. Click Generate License for Free Downloads WooCommerce Pro
  7. Copy the generated license key

Activate Your License​

  1. In your WordPress admin, you'll see a notice about license activation
  2. Click the link in the notice, or go to WP Enhanced > Free Download Woo
  3. Click License in the sidebar
  4. Paste your license key in the License Key field
  5. Click Activate License
tip

Keep your license key safe! You'll need it if you move your site or reinstall the plugin.

License Status​

After activation, you'll see:

  • License Status: Active
  • Expires: Your license expiration date
  • Sites Activated: Number of sites using this license

License Benefits​

An active license gives you:

  • Automatic Updates: One-click updates directly from your WordPress dashboard
  • Premium Support: Access to priority support through the WP Enhanced support portal
  • Feature Updates: Get new Pro features as they're released
  • Security Patches: Receive important security updates immediately
  • Access to Settings: Pro settings (Tracking, Limits, Newsletter, etc.) are only available when your license is active. Without an active license key, the settings screen will be disabled. Activate your key to use and save Pro settings.

Troubleshooting License Activation​

"Invalid License Key"​

  • Double-check you copied the entire license key
  • Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the key
  • Verify you're using the correct license key for Free Downloads WooCommerce Pro

"License Already Activated"​

  • Check if you've already activated the license on another site
  • Log in to your WP Enhanced account to deactivate the license from other sites
  • Each license has a maximum number of site activations

"Connection Error"​

  • Verify your server can connect to wpenhanced.com
  • Check your firewall settings
  • Contact your hosting provider if the issue persists

Can't access Pro settings (settings disabled or greyed out)​

  • Pro settings require an active license key. If you have no active license, or your license has expired, the settings will be disabled.
  • Fix: Activate your license (or renew it) at WP Enhanced > Free Download Woo > License in the sidebar. Once the license shows as active, settings will be available.
